Sunday Inspiration: Jacob - The Old Man Vs. Israel - The New Man

Good Morning Village!

Bishop Roderick Mitchell has shared these words of encouragement with us to help us in our daily walk.

The Old Man and The New Man – Keeping the Flesh Off Of The Throne

Luke 22:31-32 The Passion Translation (TPT)

“Simon-Peter, my dear friend, listen to what I’m about to tell you. Satan has obtained permission to come and sift you all like wheat and test your faith. But I have prayed for you, Simon-Peter, that you would stay faithful to me no matter what comes. Remember this: after you have turned back to me and have been restored, make it your life mission to strengthen the faith of your brothers.”

Life comes with may ups and downs, good and bad days.  You face days that things don’t go your way, you have delays, disappointments, and people that do you wrong.  Are you going to be Jacob, who got upset, offended by everyone, and tried to get revenge?  Our are you going to be Israel and say, “Father, thank you that you’re my vindicator and that you are fighting my battles.  I will stay in peace, knowing that you are in control!”?

Remember, both Jacob and Israel are in you.  The flesh and the spirit.  The old man and the new man.  The key to victory over the old man, is to stay in close to God.  Keep the flesh off the throne.  Don’t let the old man get back up.
