It’s a Bird?! It’s a Plane?! NOPE - it’s a UFO 🤷🏽‍♀️ Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele, whose movies have proven to be thought provoking, layered with bouts of nervous laughter that ultimately force you to sleep with all the lights on is back with another summer blockbuster. “NOPE” is trending as a great American UFO story starring Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya. “Emerald” and “OJ Haywood” are a brother-sister team of horse trainers in California. While working on healing their relationship they witness a suspicious occurrence on the ranch. There’s a force from the sky that affects the behavior of the people and all the animals. There’s an array of responses to this paranormal activity that highlights the toxic nature of being and creating a spectacle. Jordan Peele has now firmly established himself as a force in Hollywood, the critically-acclaimed “Get Out” and “Us,” have themes about race. “Nope” also embodies the same undertones and promises to keep us on the edge of our seats. Jordan Peele considers this to be a horror film. “Horror is my favorite genre and I hope it honors horror,” Peele said. “It’s all about frightening people.” 👀 “Nope” reunites Peele with fellow Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya, who starred in Peele’s directorial debut, “Get Out,” in 2017. Due to scheduling conflicts Daniel gave up his role of “W’kabi” in “The Black Panther II” to work on the film “Nope”. I really hope that he doesn’t regret that decision. It is however comforting to know that he starred in the most important installment which is the 1st one with the late great Chadwick Boseman. And who knows maybe there will be a Black Panther III that he can be apart of 🤞🏽 In the meantime, the highly anticipated “Nope” strives to put moviegoers back in the theaters. It will be on a screen near you on July 22nd. Prepare to be frightened - we’ve all been warned.
