NOIRE Kwanzaa Honorees: Nikole Hannah-Jones, Nia (Purpose)

"To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness."

To know where you are going, you must know where you have been. Writer/reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones boldly started from the very beginning for African Americans, writing the Pulitzer Prize winning 1619 Project, first in a series of essays for the New York Times and secondly as a potential best-selling book. Hannah-Jones fights to change the narrative while overcoming strong adversity from haters, from every angle.

Hannah-Jones has done her part. Now, it is our turn to help shape the future on our behalf.
