Grab your purple and gold throwback jersey, hop in your time machine and take it back to the 80’s! HBO is set to release the Lakers heyday drama series, “Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty”. They will go behind the scenes with the legends on and off the court. This series is more than basketball it simultaneously recaps the MVP’s, the underdogs, the culture, the music, the politics of the game and  the fashion - we can’t overlook those notorious uniforms with the SHORT SHORTS 😆

This series promises to shine a light on some old NBA debates in an effort to settle them once and for all. Tip-off will be at 9pm on March 6th with ten episodes on HBO and HBO MAX. It’s based on Jeff Perlman's book, “Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 80’s.” Set your reminders and get ready for this "fast-break series chronicling the professional and personal lives of the 1980’s LA Lakers".

The cast is massive. The partial list includes: Quincy Isaiah as Magic Johnson, Jason Clarke as Jerry West, Adrien Brody as Pat Riley,  DeVaughn Nixon as Norm Nixon, Solomon Hughes as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tamera Tomakili as Earleatha “Cookie” Kelly, Joey Brooks as Lon Rosen, Delante Desouza as Michael Cooper, Jimel Atkins as Jamaal Wilkes, Rob Morgan as Earvin Johnson Sr. and Sally Field as Jessie Buss.
