NOIRE Kwanzaa Honorees: Amanda Gorman, Poet, Kuumba (Creativity)

“To always do as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.”

This creative literary sensation emerged before the world reciting her poem, "The Hill We Climb", at President Joe Biden’s and Vice-President Kamala Harris’ inauguration. She is now internationally recognized for her influential and provocative words of art.

Gorman has written another poem, “New Day’s Lyric,” to send the country into 2022.
