Sunday Inspiration: Why Are You Waiting To Be Happy?

WHY ARE YOU WAITING TO BE HAPPY?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

What is the reason for waiting to be happy?  Too many of us wait on attainting things and goals to be happy.  In contrast to this way of thinking, God tells us to "rejoice always".  We don’t truly realize why God is telling us to rejoice.

Showing gratitude for the things God has done and will do is true rejoicing.  As adults, we instruct our children to show gratitude by simply saying, "thank you". As adults, we forget this great lesson that we teach our children, in that , we forget to show gratitude to God, by simply saying, "thank you".  
  
When we begin consistently tell God, “thank you”, we automatically rejoice .  We can begin to rejoice in the simple things we take for granted on a daily basis. Begin to thank God for simply being alive, breathing, having use of our bodies, waking up, having a job, for the time we have or had with our parents.  The lists of blessings goes on and on.

Gratitude allows us to be happy instantly and constantly!  No matter our current situation, we can still be happy about something.  Even in grieving we think on the good times with our loved one, and God allows us those happy thoughts.  Gratitude allows God to show you instantly that you don’t have to wait to be happy because you have everything you need to be happy right now!  

Today, tell God, “thank you” and see how quickly you will feel happy.  Remember to rejoice always and give thanks in all circumstances because, it is the will of God in Jesus Christ for you to be happy.   Most of all, thank God for allowing you to read these words of inspiration.
