God's Call To Action

Jeremiah 29:11-14 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.

We have been given a promise by God.  However, this promise is followed by a call to action.  When reading the word of God, we tend to skip, ignore, or fail to execute the call of action.  This verse in particular requires us to call on God and seek him with all of our heart.  The Lord then tells us He will find us and he will bring us back from the places in which we are in captivity.  Captivity is not only physical captivity but being captive to people, habits, traditions, money, things, and rituals.  God wants us to rely completely on Him and Him alone.

Whenever we decide to do what the Lord tells us to do, we will and can receive blessings.  Blessings are not the way to determine if God is pleased.  Blessings are a by-product of seeking God.  When we seek Him, He adds everything to our efforts.  God is the greatest parent ever.  Just as we give our children whatever we can, God gives so much more.  He gives us more than we can ever imagine or dream, when we seek him first.  This is why we should never chase money, fame, or favor.  When we do the things God instructs us to do, we take the limits off of God!

Go forth and be great!!

Have a great week!!
