Message From The Editor: The Time Is Right For NOIRE

They say, “timing is everything.” There’s nothing like being in the right place at the right time for the right reasons. When that happens, great things happen.

Thus, we usher in Noire, where we will work to be the media entity whose time has come. In our initial edition of Noire, the online magazine that scopes the Black and multicultural community from an innovative perspective, we will present shining examples of Black Americans and people of African descent achieving remarkable things behind the distinct qualities of strong work ethics, intelligence, and true consciousness of moving our community onward and upward.

Our mantra is “Our Lives, Our Stories, Our Voices.” By launching on November 1, 2021, we will begin our vigorous pursuit and vision to become the leading source of true, high-quality narratives of people of color. There’s no time for that more important than today.

In these highly volatile and divisive days, war has been declared on democracy. War has been declared on facts. War has been declared on truth. It has become a war of words. One of the prime targets in these wars are the equal and positive welfare of Black America and people of African descent.

We cannot sit back and hope they go away. We must fight. Our weapon is OUR words because words have power.

Noire will “fight” in a unique way. Instead of perpetuating negative images, stereotypes, and false impressions about our community, we will strive to celebrate our community, along with affirming the brilliance and innovation in our community. There’s plenty of that to go around, believe me.

Among our feature stories in this initial edition, we will take a close look at one Deion Sanders aka Coach Prime and look behind the motivation of what he wishes to accomplish as the head football coach at Jackson State University. Profiles of amazing people described in Noire will reverse negative narratives about our community and instead highlight bright and brilliant people excelling in creative and novel ways.

In Noire, that’s how we roll.

We will pay tribute to the late Melvin Van Peebles and explain why his accomplishments should never be forgotten.

You are our audience; you are also our soldiers. Let’s band together.

Daniel and Genara Morris are Noire’s co-publishers, a dynamic husband-and-wife team that are attorneys and HBCU graduates. Our senior staff is skilled and professional in every genre of the media industry. But their unapologetic passion to help make positive and constructive impact in our community matches their skills and abilities.

So, take this ride with us. You won’t regret it. And, as our illustrious co-publisher, Genara Morris, says, “Better Together!”
